Earth 911

http://www.earth911.org/master.asp

I originally found this sight a while a go when I was researching battery recycling as an environmental project. However, it has a lot of connections to sustainability and not just in terms of waste management. This is a green advice site; it has lots of articles, facts, and tips on how to lead more environmentally friendly and sustainable life. It touches on everything from recycling to water quality to organic shopping. I like this site because it’s well organized and easy to read. I also really like the cheery “you can make a difference” corner.

Who:

Earth 911 is an organization that works with public and private partners to help encourage environmentally friendly lifestyles. They also work in conjunction with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. They seem to be sponsored by HP and ESRI, but that doesn’t really seem to effect their credibility or advice.

What:

This is a .org site that seeks to teach people about environmentally friendly living. There is more adivce than strait facts, but it all seems very logical accurate.

Where:

They don't have a bibligraphy however, they do have a list of links and resources. These can also be explored for further research.

When: doesn't say
Why:

I liked this sight because it had a range of information about many of the initiatives. I also thought it seemed accessible to a wide audience including, teachers, parents and student. These ideas are also relevant both at home and at school.
