Requirements for the 2nd Semester of Theatre Performance
Due dates for grading:  March 14 and May 23, A days.

THEATRE PERFORMANCE PORTFOLIO

This requirement for Theatre Performance class is comprised of two parts:

PART ONE:

THE ACTORS PERFORMANCE REPERTOIRE

This is a requirement for Theatre Performance.  It will be reviewed/graded in rough form by the end of the 1st/3rd quarter (at least one monologue done), and then a final grade for the three monologues in the 2nd/4th quarter.

The portfolio is a collection of at least 3 monologues for your repertoire.  Scripts.  The scripts need to show a range of character types, genres, authors.  Do not have more than two monologues per author, nor should you have more than one monologue per play.

To be included with each monologue:
1)    The Performance Script.  Mark up this script to show how you worked on it.
2)    Information about the author of this monologue.  You can get this online usually very quickly.  Acknowledge your source.
3)    A play synopsis, and where this particular monologue occurs.  This again is a simple download from an acknowledged source.
4)    Your notes on your interpretation (VERY important).  You may call it the "process" page.  This is the focus of the exercise, and gets the most evaluation.  You need to be continuing the process or method you started in Character Portrayal.

You may add other pertinent information about the show and the monologue you may have researched.

This project is given to you to establish a work ethic you need to have for every monologue you work with.

This is a important project.  It can only be accomplished by a slow, thoughtful accumulation.  It is useless if it is not useful to you.  It is a lifelong project!

This portfolio will be submitted in a three ring binder.  Use sheet protectors for your material, you want this to last a long time!  Remember, this portfolio is about your choosing monologues that can be audition pieces.  Pick monologues that best show range, and your particular talents.
