Friday, March 13, 2009, 11:30am-1:00pm, President's Pavilion. Each meeting begins with a light lunch, provided by the PFA, followed by updates on PFA-sponsored events and a presentation. This month, the PFA is excited about our speaker. Madeline Levine, is a nationally-acclaimed child psychologist and the best-selling author of The Price of Privilege: How Parental Pressure and Material Advantage are Creating a Generation of Disconnected and Unhappy Kids. At our meeting, she will be sharing the highlights from her previous evening's presentation. No RSVP necessary for the Friday lunch meeting.
If you are interested in Dr. Levine's full presentation, to be held Thursday, March 12 from 7-9pm at Dillingham Auditorium, rsvp online at www.punahou.edu/PFArsvp. Dr. Levine will uncover the hidden effects of today's competitive culture and its impact on our children's social and emotional development. Learn how well-meaning parents may unwittingly be creating kids who look perfect on the outside, but feel empty on the inside.
