Kirsch Art Gallery Opening Reception, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. All are invited to the opening reception for the exhibit by Punahou School's Advanced Placement Art students.

Exhibit runs through May 24, 2012. The Art Gallery is open daily 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the entrance to Cookie Library in the Academy. Free admission.

Do you remember your first experience at Punahou as a new parent? Remember your child's first year? Would you have felt more comfortable having an experienced parent who could share some pointers?

The Parent Buddy Program can bridge the gap between experienced and new Punahou families. The time commitment is minimal and, as a Buddy, you can be the first person to welcome a new Punahou family to our 'Ohana and make a lasting first impression! Welcome to the online PFA Room/Team Parent Volunteer Form! If you are interested in applying as a Grades K to 8 Room/Team Parent for the 2012 to 2013 school year, please view the slideshow and complete the form found as a link on the last slide.

The last day to submit a form is Friday, July 20, 2012. After you submit a form, a confirmation will be emailed to your Punahou email address, accessible at http://punapps.punahou.edu.

Gmail users: if you are logged into a gmail account, please SIGN OUT (not just "X" page) of all webpages with gmail login and try the link again

If you prefer to complete a hard copy form, you may pick up the form at the PFA office located at the Sullivan Administration Building, weekdays 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and return by noon on July 20.

The annual dues of $25, plus tax deductible donations, enable the PFA to continue supporting school events and programs such as Currents (Parent Newsletter), the Parent Ed Fair, and New Parent services like the Buddy Program and campus tours.

The PFA Sustainability Committee welcomes your participation in supporting sustainability efforts at Punahou School. Here's how you can help:

* Feel free to use PFA's "Community Set of Reusables" (reusable cups, plates, forks, spoons, and cloth napkins). The sets are available to groups and classes on campus who would like to go papergoodless for functions. Six sets of thirty of each item are available by contacting the PFA Sustainability Committee at 944-5752 or at pfa@punahou.edu.

* Take part in PFA's Papergoodless Initiative. When you attend an event where food is served, bring your "reusable dining set" to help PFA's efforts to reduce waste on campus and support Punahou School's 2016 Sustainability Challenge.

Punahou's Parent Faculty Association (PFA) is a non-profit volunteer organization that works in partnership with Punahou School to support and enrich the School's vision, programs, and activities to benefit all members of the Punahou community. The PFA is an inclusive organization that provides volunteer opportunities, volunteer training, and educational programs to help parents meaningfully engage in their child's Punahou experience.

The PFA Goals are to:

* Increase communication among the members of the Punahou Community.
* Support School programs and activities and provide opportunities which enrich the Punahou Community.
* Encourage engaged and sustained participation in the PFA

Volunteer!
There are so many ways you can help--you can volunteer for a short, one-time project or join an ongoing committee. The personal gratification of getting involved in the PFA and sharing these experiences with friends (old and nw) make volunteering a truly rewarding experience!
The Punahou community enjoys a wide variety of activities that would not be possible without PFA sponsorship. Thousands of volunteer hours are required to make it all happen.

Volunteer in Two Easy Steps
1. Log into ePunahou and select the PFA tab.
2. Go to the PFA Volunteer Form and click on the activities that interest you.

Become a Member
PFA membership cards will be mailed to all Punahou households, faculty and staff in mid-July 2011. The annual dues are $25 per household. These dues support programs that benefit you and your children. In addition, donations are gratefully accepted and are tax-deductible. Donate $100 or more (+ $25 membership dues) and receive a gift.

Stop by the PFA Office!
The PFA Office is located on the ground floor of the Maurice J. Sullivan Administration Building. The PFA Coordinator and the Carnival Coordinator, both full-time Punahou employees, facilitate many of the events and activities of the organization.
