Brent Hunter, USPTA & Lee Couillard, USPTA show two contrasting styles of hitting the approach shot. Lee uses a slice approach and Brent uses a driving topspin approach. Regardless of what type of approach shot you are attempting to hit, the ball must not sit up into the strike zone of the opponent. There are advantages and disadvantages to hitting both of these types of approaches, however, if hit CORRECTLY, they are no disadvantages to hitting either type.
