Second to last day of our Vietnam trip and we had to wake up and open our drapes to the wonderful view of the ocean. Man, isn't our life painful? We had a breakfast buffet with fresh squeezed juices and it was great. Sometimes I wonder if people out there feel sorry for us. After breakfast some of us went to the beach and looked for sea shells. Man are those sea shells rare on the beach, everywhere you go you just can't find them. I'm joking, the beach was kind of like the yellow brick road except that it was paved with various shells and there was no Oz at the end of the trail. Lauren received a really cool shell from a fisherman and I snatched about maybe a 100 shells, while Heather and Kendra got maybe 10.

After 'Extreme Shell Hunting' Heather, Kendra, Mr. Dang, and I jumped into the water and took a great swim. The swim did not last very long because we had to pack and rinse off in five minutes or else the bus was going to leave us. (Wouldn't that be awful?)

When we got on the bus we headed for the sand dunes that we went to the previous night. On our way there we stopped at a Baptist church to drop off some toys and clothes we had in the van. The priest was sick, but there were women there who looked after the church.

Once we reached the sand dunes, the kids that we saw last night came running to our bus. They recognized our bus as the one who gives away toys and pens. As soon as we got out it was like a stampede and all the kids were sticking out their hands. Some of the older kids were asking us for the big stuffed animals, but i tried to give my toys to the shy little ones. The kids were great though, they helped us with sliding down the sand dunes. Some of the sand dunes were really steep, but don't worry you were going practically like 1/2 mph, so you occasionally stopped half way before the kids came down to push you all the way.

After we left and gave out all our toys we drove for about 4 hours. Most of us were asleep the whole way while others were doing who knows what. The trip back to Ho Chi Minh City was tiring and painful because of the awkward positions we were sleeping in. However, when we got back most of us went shopping before getting dinner and falling asleep. If I didn't know any better I would say our day routine was sleep, wake up to the beautiful sunrise, eat, walk on the beach, play with kids, sleep, eat, spend our parents' money, eat, and sleep. Wait a minute, scratch that, we did strenuous work. I'm pretty sure we broke a sweat (from all the heat).  :)

PS. Sorry for the many grammatical errors that I'm sure are apparent in this e-mail, but i'm writing this five minutes before I have to go, so good luck. Have the BESTEST time deciphering it.

Chao gi everyone,
Its our last day in Vietnam (noooo) and i'm writing this 30 min. before we have to go. We've all been busy today trying to soak up the last bits of this unbelievably awesome place before we head to Japan then home.  It's been super fun.

Today we got to sleep in a little then start our day with the hotel's incredibly good breakfast buffet. The whole day was devoted to finding and doing things we wanted to get to before we had to leave, mainly shopping for gifts. Mr. Dang took us to a marketplace that had just about everything from Louis Vuitton wallets and hats to dried baby sting ray... yea...and some other dried fishies Ididn't want to get to close to.... but yea, we all agree another week would have been great, but the limited time has made us appreciate every humid moment and take advantage of the uniqueness of the country. So now I''m gonna go buy a t-shirt that I saw earlier.
