Day 6

Today we headed off the line and got some R&R in Saigon. Word on the wire says we are shipping back home tomorrow. We went around Saigon today living the high life of bottled water and sunshine. We bought some stuff with the money we had left over and are going to settle in for the night, and dream of home. I don’t know how I can express, in words, what this trip has meant to me. Although this is my second year going I am still impacted by the aloha of the Vietnamese people. I am amazed at how lucky I am with guaranteed running water and electricity, good education, and a family that earns enough money that they can feed me every day and send me on trips. Not many of the Vietnamese children have the opportunities that I have, but they still find time to be filled with happiness.
